Carson was born on October 1st. Shortly after delivery, Carson developed issues with his breathing. He was transported to Akron Children's Hospital where a diagnosis of Aortic Stenosis with Heart Failure was reached. Only hours after birth, Carson was in for a fight. He underwent an emergency heart catheterization procedure to help "balloon" open his aorta. Although the procedure was successful, Carson began to have more complications that were unanticipated. On October 14th, a decision was made by Akron Children's to transport Carson to Cleveland Clinic for more advanced care. After a week at Cleveland Clinic, multiple tests and close monitoring, it has been decided that Carson will undergo open heart surgery to help his heart achieve the highest function. At only 3 weeks old, Carson has shown a great deal of strength and fight, along with his mom and dad. It has been 21 days since Carson was born and he has already endured very many obstacles. Please help support Drew, Kari, Aubree and Carson with your donation in this time of need.
