On the evening of September 30, our funny and full of life Carson Barnette was involved in a catastrophic diving accident resulting in life changing injuries. He suffered a burst fracture at the level of C5 in his cervical spine. He has undergone a cervical spine fusion from C4-C6. In typical Carson fashion, he is cracking jokes and in good spirits. Carson will be in ICU/hospitalized for at least the next 30 days and then will be transferred to a year long rehab program.
I asked myself why this happened to Carson and the answer came to me this morning. God will use him as a vessel to do good and show others what strength, determination, and perseverance look like. Carson’s strength and his strong relationship with God will carry him through.
To the two young men, Garrett and Jordan, who pulled Carson out and administered CPR we are so grateful. You are more than friends you are now family.
Carson you have always persevered through what life has thrown your way. This might be the biggest obstacle you will ever have to conquer. This will not be your whole story, it will just be part of it.
On behalf of Carson, Lisa and the rest of our family, we would like to say thank you for the huge outpouring of love and support. If we haven’t responded just know that we love you and are so appreciative. In the days to come, please pray for Carson and our entire family.
Due to his inability to work, along with prayers, donations are greatly appreciated to help fund the many therapies and treatments he will face in the future.
