In Loving Memory of Our Ocean-Loving Mama

My dear mom, a woman with a soul as vast and deep as the ocean she adored, took her last peaceful breath on May 29th at 1:40 AM, after years of bravely battling cancer. For me, Shailee, and my sissy Jessi, she was more than just a mom; she was our rock, our inspiration, and the heart of our family. Her seven beloved grandkids, Arthamial, Anthony, Ethan, Lavinia, Trentin, Elijah, and Willow, will deeply miss their loving Mimi.

Born on April 22, 1970, My mamas passion for the water and the ocean was boundless. She truly embodied the spirit of a mermaid, always yearning for the vast, blue expanse. In honor of this profound connection, we’ve chosen water cremation for her, a gentle process that uses water to return her to the element she loved so dearly.

To celebrate her beautiful life and deep connection to the sea, my sissy Jessi and I are planning a heartfelt celebration of life with our closest family at an Airbnb on the Oregon coast. There, we will take a boat out onto the beautiful ocean and spread some of her remains, allowing her to truly become one with the waves she cherished. I also plan to make special necklaces with a portion of her remains for our close family, so we can always carry a piece of her with us.

Mom's passing was very sudden, leaving us with little time to prepare. The unexpected, long trip back home to say goodbye to our mama, followed by another trip to tie up loose ends, has been incredibly challenging as we navigate this profound grief.
