In memory of Frederick “Nick” Gigliotti, we come together to honor a man who gave so much to the game of rugby and the people around it.

To those who knew him personally, he was Nick. A steady presence on the sideline, a generous supporter behind the scenes, and someone who believed deeply in what rugby could give to young people. His son Tony shared stories that capture that spirit. Not for recognition, but because they show the kind of man Nick was.

When Tony began coaching, high school teams didn’t have much after matches. Nick stepped in, firing up the grill and creating something more. It wasn’t about the food. It was about making players feel valued and part of something bigger. What he gave always found its way back to the team, quietly helping build something lasting.

He also had a gift for cutting through doubt with a few simple words. Before a big opportunity, when nerves were high, he offered steady confidence: “You’ll do great. Just give them hell.” It was encouragement that stuck, the kind young athletes carry with them long after the moment passes.

Nick loved rugby because it reflected something he understood well. The bond between teammates. The respect in competition. The idea that after giving everything on the field, you come together as friends. That sense of connection and community meant everything to him.

This fundraiser honors that legacy by doing something he cared deeply about. Helping more kids get onto the rugby field.
