Vor über einem Jahr hatte Martin einen schweren Fahrradunfall und erlitt ein Schädel-Hirn-Trauma. Seitdem ist nichts mehr wie vorher – Klinik, Reha, Hoffnung, Rückschläge. Nach ersten Fortschritten und einem kurzen Aufenthalt zu Hause erlitt er dort einen epileptischen Anfall und verletzte sich erneut schwer am Kopf. Seitdem zeigt die Kurve leider nicht mehr so deutlich nach oben wie zuvor.

Für seine beiden Kinder bedeutet das: Ihr Papa ist da – aber ganz anders als früher. Und für Patricia heißt es die volle Ladung Verantwortung. Der Alltag besteht seit über einem Jahr aus Dauer-Organisation, Papierkrieg, Terminen und Kämpfen um das, was eigentlich selbstverständlich sein sollte. Einfach ist das alles nicht – und trotzdem hält sie alles zusammen, damit die Kinder trotz allem in so viel Normalität wie möglich aufwachsen.

Mit dieser Aktion wollen wir sie und die Kinder ein bisschen entlasten. Für Kosten, Betreuung, Fahrtwege – oder einfach mal, um durchzuatmen und nicht auch noch finanzielle Sorgen schultern zu müssen.

Over a year ago, Martin had a serious bicycle accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury. Since then, everything has changed – hospitals, rehab, small steps forward, and painful setbacks. After some initial progress and a short time at home, he had an epileptic seizure and hit his head again. Since then, things have gotten harder, and progress has slowed.

For his two children, this means: their dad is still here – but very different from how he used to be. And for Patricia, it means: carrying the full weight of responsibility. For more than a year now, daily life has been filled with nonstop organizing, paperwork, appointments, and fighting for things that should really be a given. None of it is easy – and yet she keeps it all together so the kids can grow up with as much normality as possible.

This fundraiser is a way to give them some relief – to help cover costs, or simply to give her space to breathe without the added burden of financial worry.
