Carrying Cameron’s Spark Forward
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for visiting my scholarship donation page.
My name is Brittany, and I’m Cameron’s oldest sister. As we come up on the two-year anniversary of Cameron’s passing, it’s still hard to believe he’s gone. Some days, it feels like he’s just off fishing, out with his girlfriend and friends, or working on a project. Sometimes, I catch myself waiting for him to walk through the door with that grin on his face and a story to tell.
Cameron passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024. He was only 24 years old. Though he struggled with undiagnosed mental health issues, he never stopped showing up for the people he loved. He was creative, thoughtful, and endlessly curious about how things worked. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a boyfriend, and an incredible friend.
Cameron attended Lincoln Tech from 2019 to 2020, where he studied to become an electrician. It was the first time I truly saw him shine in a space that recognized his gifts. He wasn’t traditionally “book smart,” but he could make perfect sense of wires, circuits, and lights. He was fascinated by electricity, how it all connected. He loved being able to build, repair, and create something meaningful with his hands.
He was also a talented artist and woodworker. I still find his sketches tucked in drawers, little reminders of how deeply creative he was. And he was an avid fisherman, spending months tracking, researching, and planning his next catch. Whether it was fishing, sketching, or electrical work, he poured his heart into the things he loved.
This scholarship was created to honor that heart and to support a student following in Cameron’s footsteps. Every year, we award this scholarship to a current Lincoln Tech student pursuing a career as an electrician. Each applicant fills out a short questionnaire, and our mom personally selects the recipient. Then, together, we hand-deliver the scholarship. It’s not just about the money. It’s about making a real, human connection and encouraging someone to keep going.
While this scholarship might not be life-changing in the traditional sense, it offers something just as important — a leg up. A boost. A reminder that someone sees their effort and believes in their future.
Cameron’s legacy is about more than his trade; it’s about love, creativity, kindness, and above all else, hope. His message to anyone struggling, whether it’s in school, in life, or within themselves, is simple and powerful: Always hold onto hope.
Thank you, for reading, for being here, and for supporting this cause that means everything to our family. Your donation keeps Cameron’s memory alive and helps a deserving student feel seen, valued, and encouraged.
With gratitude,
Brittany
