Please help to carry on Matts specialist physiotherapy

Hi my name is Yolanda I am doing this go fund me to help my husband carry on with his specialist physiotherapy that is due to end this month.

Here is a bit of a back story. Matt was an energetic young man in his prime loved football watching and playing it. He loved working outside and loved going out for drives Matt loved life. Matts life took a dramatic turn for the worst on the 6th December 2023 when he nearly lost his life. He got up in the morning like he normally did to take his son to college but felt something wasn't right so called me out to the car he was wobbly and shaky he then collapsed on the floor I managed with help to get him inside the house and I dialled 999. Matt was rushed to hospital on blues and toos where he was rushed into the resuscitation area. The next thing I knew they were cutting his clothes off and his eyes were fixed and dilated and he was in a coma I had no clue what was going on I have never been so scared in my life. Matt was then taken for a scan, the doctors then came to tell me Matt had a huge bleed on the brain and his brain was flooding with blood and he needed emergency brain surgery in Addenbrooks to save his life. My world fell apart at this point and we were rushed there on blue lights. It turns out Matt had a malformation and 3 of his main blood vessels in his brain had burst and flooded his brain. This in turn caused Matt to have a stroke. Matt was still in a coma at this point. On the 7th of December Matt had brain surgery to stop the bleed and extract the blood. (Longest 6 hours of my life) I sat on the floor in the waiting room and I didn't move until I knew he was ok. Matt had his surgery then wouldn't/couldn't wake up from his coma this lasted for 3 weeks I was so scared I was going to lose him. I couldn't understand how this happened I just remember saying but HE IS ONLY 35!!. At one point I was planning his funeral in my head.

Fast forward to today. Matt was excepted in to a specialist physiotherapy centre in September 2024 that helps with neurological brain injuries this centre is called Livability Icanho. This is a charity funded place where spaces are limited for funded people. Matts funding is due to run out THIS MONTH. They are trying to get it extended but we really dont know if they can. I have asked if they will take Matt on privately and they said they can but it is £75 per hour so for another 6 months is around £1800 to £2000. Matt has made so much progress in these past few months his brain is now starting to make new path ways to try and help him walk again he is now starting to transfer on his own, he can take tiny steps with support he can do sit to stand with help he can do so much more than he could 6 months ago. My fear is that if it stops this will be him forever. (It does not bother me i love him with all my heart either way) BUT MATT WANTS TO WALK AGAIN!! IT IS HIS DREAM TO TAKE SOME INDEPENDENT STEPS even if it just a few at a time.

We dont have the funds our self to make this happen hence why I am having to ask you kind and caring people to hopefully make matts dream come true.
