Carry my mom through cancer
Donation protected
Update (5/03/2025):
My mom and I are absolutely speechless at the outpouring of support from our friends and family. At this time, my mother has been able to peruse treatment for her (multiple) new diagnoses, and has returned to work! While we still have many more tests, scans, and doctors appointments to go, my mom is back on her way to being healthy again! For the time being this gofundme will be inactive unless her condition worsens. We will forever be indebted to all of those who have shown their support to life our family up during this crisis. Thank you all ❤️
Since I was a little girl, my mom has been the strongest woman I know. Before I could even read, she had always been the superhero in my life.
While I was born into this world with two parents, I was fortunate enough to have one who stayed. By the time I learned to walk, my mother was racing back and forth between two jobs, and pursuing her bachelor's. Since I was born it was my mom and I vs. the World. I have vivid memories of myself sitting in the back of her Red GMC Canyon, singing along to Beatles chords and Midnight Oil, in those brief moments we had to enjoy each others company before she was off to work again.
Through every emotional and financial setback, my mother has courageously fought to give me a better life. She has dedicated the past twenty years to working three jobs to save our family home and ease the burden of her financial circumstances even amongst the chaos of everyday life. Yesterday, while our local emergency department buzzed with many racing footsteps, for the first time in my life my mothers stood still. Yesterday, our old lives had come to an abrupt stop when she was diagnosed with spinal cancer.
There are many uncertainties in the months to come. What I am certain of, is that we are in desperate need of support from our friends and family. As my mother has fearlessly cared for me through each journey in my life, I intend to carry her through this one. The next months are going to have many doctors to visit, family to see, and shoulders to cry on. The weight of this diagnosis has put our old lives to an end, and my mother can no longer prioritize work over her health. Although my mother may have to carry the weight of this diagnosis, I refuse to allow her to dread her financial obligations. Any support with medical copays, groceries, gas, and household bills during this time is crucial.
Thank you for helping me help my mom through this next journey.
Love,
Emma & Diane
