A Wheelchair Van for Braxton — Standing with Frank & Yona
Family,
This is simple. A child needs to be carried, and his grandparents are saying yes.
Two and a half years ago, Leah—only 33—went home to Jesus after a sudden battle with hydrocephalus. She left behind her son, Braxton, a special-needs child who requires total care. Braxton’s grandparents, Frank and Yona Darrow, have been grieving their daughter while stepping in as his daily strength. Frank (67) is officially retiring, and the courts are awarding them full custody. They are determined that Braxton will not be placed in a facility. Love won’t let them do that.
But love also needs wheels.
Frank and Yona can’t keep lifting Braxton in and out of a car. We’re raising funds for a reliable wheelchair-accessible van and the ongoing essentials that make daily care possible (diapers, medical supplies, adaptive items). Our goal is $20,000, and $4,000 is already pledged offline. Every dollar given here will go 100% to Braxton’s care.
“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God… is to visit orphans and widows in their affliction.” — James 1:27
“Let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” — 1 John 3:18
Who’s organizing
This effort is a joint work of the Knuckleheads men’s fellowship and EncourageMen Ministries in the Hamilton Mill, GA area. I’m AJ (EncourageMen) and will serve as campaign organizer with Fern Taylor and Kent Cammack. Funds will be directed to the purchase of the van and given straight to the Darrow family for Braxton’s needs. We’ll post updates, receipts, and a photo of the van the moment it’s secured.
How you can help today
Give whatever the Spirit leads.
$50 helps with diapers and supplies
$150 fuels medical trips and appointments
$500–$1,000 moves us meaningfully toward the van
Share this page with your church and friends.
Pray for Frank, Yona, Braxton, and for all who will be moved to generosity.
Around our Sept 20 men’s conference, we hope to celebrate God’s provision with the family and show you what your gifts have accomplished. Whether you ever meet them or not, your generosity will carry a boy and strengthen two faithful grandparents who chose the narrow road of sacrificial love.
Let’s be the Church. Let’s carry this together.
With gratitude,
Anthony "AJ" James
