I'd like to tell you a little bit about my best friend. "Best friend" really doesnt capture the way I feel about her though. Apart from the fact that we share no DNA, she is my sister. Carrie Wabs, 31 year old female hairstylist from Chico, CA was injured in a horrific car accident October 22, 2015. Due to her extensive injuries, Carrie has lost the majority of her left arm. But that does not define her.
Part of what defines her is her amazing capacity to love. She is the most loving, caring individual I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Part of what defines her is the way she cares for her clients and works with a passion like no hairstylist I've ever known in the last 10 years I've worked in the beauty industry. Part of what defines her is her sassy attitude :)
At the time of the accident, Carrie was 3 months from owning her own salon with me. Partners in the dream we've shared since beauty school.
Carrie has already undergone multiple surgeries and may have more ahead of her. With the right prosthesis, doctors are confident that Carrie can return to her passion and continue her career as a hairstylist.
Even with Carrie's medical insurance, out of pocket expenses will be extensive. Funds raised will help get her the prosthetic she needs and help to offset the costs of her medical bills, the total of which is growing everyday and is currently undetermined.
Every little bit helps! Carrie and her family are incredibly grateful for any and all support and encouragement for her in this difficult journey. She has a great attitude and is so looking forward to getting her life back. Thank you all for just reading this. And from the bottom of my heart and hers, thank you for donating anything and God bless you and your family.
