Carrie’s Medical Expenses & Recovery

Hello everyone,

Most of you may not know, but on Thursday, October 21st my mom, Carrie, was rushed to the emergency room. What seemed to be a normal Thursday night.. turned into my family’s worst nightmare. My mom was at her normal night of yoga when suddenly we got a call from a police officer saying Carrie passed out unconscious in class and they’re taking her to the nearest hospital. Carrie was brought to St Luke’s Anderson campus where they started running tests to figure out what’s wrong. After what seemed like hours of waiting, we were finally told that they found a ruptured brain aneurysm and she will be transported immediately to St Luke’s Bethlehem University Hospital. They monitored her all night long, kept her comfortable on the ventilator, and pushed for surgery the next morning. Through out the night they did have to insert a drain into her brain to remove any blood and fluid left behind from the ruptured aneurysm.

The next morning, being Friday, October 22nd my mom was rushed into brain surgery. Surgery went well. The 24 hour period after the surgery was crucial. She fought through it and they were able to take her off the ventilator for the time being. She’s stable, but still in critical condition. My family and I were able to get slow responses from her. She was able to look over at us and recognize who we are, which was a huge relief.

Now that you know some of our story, I’ll get into why I’m creating this account. As you can imagine this is very hard mentally, but it’s going to become very hard financially. We’re the type of family that wouldn’t ask for help unless needed. Hospital bills are going to be piling up and become very expensive. If you could please donate any amount of money to help my family, especially my dad get through these tiring times, it would be greatly appreciated.
