Carrie's journey
Donation protected
A couple of months ago Carrie, Jeff & some friends were out of town when Carrie felt a lump. Thinking it was worth checking out, she saw a dr. They soon did mammograms, referring her to a surgeon for a biopsy. This led to another appointment with an oncologist. They found out it was breast cancer, which needs to be dealt with now. The Doners are a local family, who run a small log trucking business. Carrie is usually on the giving end of everyone elses story. She is the one standing on a porch offering a meal after a baby is born, a bottle of wine when a friend has a bad day. Now it's our turn to return the favor. I have no doubt Carrie will beat this, so far she has been blessed with encouraging news from her medical team. This account will help with out-of-pocket medical bills. Thank you! This is a msg straight from Carrie. <3
As a lot of you know, in April I was diagnosed with breast cancer. On Tuesday, I will be having a double mastectomy. Jeff will be taking time off to take care of me.
So many prayers have been answered so far on this crazy journey. I'd ask that you all pray for my lymph nodes to be clear and for surgery to go without complications.
I am so thankful for all of the support and love that I have received from my friends and family. Meals, calls, texts, the boys all wearing pink at their baseball games and the girls with their pink softball socks and bows! Ashley created a meal train and you guys filled it up! I'm so grateful for all of you. This community is amazing and one day soon I hope to repay you all with the kindness you've shown or family. We love you all.
