Carrie's Combat

Donation protected
In February 2019, Carrie was diagnosed with stage 2 B Breast Cancer, she had a mastectomy in spring of 2019, followed by numerous chemo-therapies, doctors’ visits and tests. Her last chemo treatment was completed on November 5, 2019 and her last day of radiation was January 17, 2020.

Carrie was so happy to be in remission! In November 2020, she developed a persistent cough and was limited to seeing doctors due to the global pandemic (even though she was in touch with all of her Dr’s). After additional tests and scans, she was diagnosed with Metastatic breast cancer (Stage 4) that had spread to her lungs and bones. She again started multiple rounds of chemotherapy.

In August 2021, she found that her cancer had spread to her brain. She had to stop Chemotherapy for her lungs and start radiation on her brain. Shortly after this new diagnosis, she developed a blood clot in her lungs which made it very difficult for her to breath and was in the ICU on September 12th. Her cancer was aggressive and had progressed rapidly. Sadly, she lost her battle to cancer and passed away peacefully on September 14, 2021.

Carrie leaves behind her grieving husband of almost 21 years (Ryan), and beautiful and kind children,14-year-old daughter (Ally) and almost 16-year-old son (Will). Carrie worked until the end as she battled her fight. She was not able to put in as much time as she had prior to her being sick, due to her increase in medical appointments and lack of energy. Her decrease in work along with her increase in medical bills have put a strain on the family.

Anyone that knows Carrie, knows that she lit up the room with her presence. She had an energy that was unexplainable! She was KIND and CARING. Please consider supporting Carrie’s Combat which will assist the financial support for her surviving family members, as she was taken too soon.

On behalf of Carrie’s closest friends and the entire McLaughlin Family, I appreciate the outpouring of love, prayers and support shown over the past week and undoubtedly the past several months. You did not have to do it.

Carrie touched so many people's lives. She was active in her community and always willing to help out a friend in need. She will be missed by many.
