Carrie was diagnosed with Invasive Lobular Cancer Stage 2. She and her family are going to need our help!
She is having a lymph node procedure on Monday, November 11th and Bilateral (Double) Mastectomy with a Diep Flap Tissue Transplant on Tuesday, November 12th. She will be in the hospital for approximately 5 days and not be able to return to work for 8-12 weeks.
She also has a broken IVC Filter that will be surgically removed once she is cleared for another surgery.
She will need ongoing hormone therapy as well as possible further treatments and surgeries.
She is going to need home health care and medical supplies for about 4 weeks which we recently found out will not be covered by her health insurance.
As we all know to be out of work for even a few days let alone a few weeks can be a huge financial strain. As a single mother, that strain will only be harder to withstand. Including utilities and rent her estimated monthly bills come to about $4,000.
Arrangments for her youngest daughter Ariana have already been made to help her get to school and for her care by family.
Carrie has always been an active and caring person to her family and community and now it's time for us to help her! She can use your prayers, spiritual uplifting, and companionship as she recovers.
There are many ways to help other than just financially! If you prefer you can also donate gift cards to places like Grubhub and Doordash, she can order groceries with Shipt or Amazon Pantry.
You can also donate your time, laundry and general cleaning will be tough for her in the coming weeks and any help she can receive would be much appreciated.
We have made an Amazon wish list that includes medical devices and supplies she will need. You can find the list here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2JZWAA90VYNCB?&sort=default
Please consider giving support in any way that you can, even if it is simply sharing this fundraiser.
