With heavy hearts but unwavering hope, we are reaching out to rally around someone who means the world to so many of us, Carrie Ernest.
Carrie is the kind of person who lights up every room she enters. A natural leader, a fiercely devoted cat mama, and a gentle yet powerful presence in the lives of everyone lucky enough to know her. She has always been the one offering support, warmth, and strength—never asking for anything in return.
Now, it’s our turn to be there for her.
Carrie has been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma, a form of tongue cancer that has taken an immense toll on her physically, emotionally, and financially. She has been courageously fighting this battle for the past few months, enduring grueling treatments and the uncertainty that comes with such a diagnosis.
While she continues to fight with grace and determination, the mounting medical expenses are overwhelming, far beyond what insurance and basic care can provide. Carrie, true to her nature, has tried to carry this burden quietly and without complaint. But the truth is—she needs us.
Her family, though loving and supportive, lives across the country and cannot be here by her side. That leaves it up to us—her friends, her teammates, her San Diego community—to show up in every way we can.
Any donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. It will go directly toward Carrie’s medical care, recovery, and daily needs as she faces the biggest challenge of her life.
Most of all, we ask that you hold Carrie in your hearts—send love, prayers, and strength her way. She’s always been a rock for so many of us. Now it’s our turn to lift her up
