Carrie the Warrior, Battle with Breast Cancer
I met Carrie a long time ago when she was about-to-give-birth pregnant with Addison, wearing her cowboy jeans modified to fit accordingly and boots with spurs. I thought “wow! This chic is a badass!” I was right.
This great horsewoman... mom, daughter. wife, friend of mine and many others, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Her battle plan will be laid out Tuesday March 9th.
Carrie Terroux-Barrett is a founder and board member of the well known CHRN (Colorado Horse Rescue Network) with which many of you are likely familiar. It’s a wonderful program that rescues hundreds of horses each year, placing them in forever homes with loving families.
Carrie - as strong as she is - needs some rescuing herself right now. There will be deductibles needing met, household bills that need to be paid.... anything, everything....food, fuel, Rx, etc.... no need to go on as I can only imagine being in her shoes right now. She’s about as strong as a woman can possibly be, naturally, but any time that ugly disease shows up for battle it has to be completely terrifying, especially when you’re the mother of a beautiful, incredibly smart young girl like Addison, who needs her momma.
So, this is for Carrie, Pete and Addison ... to help make this battle a little less stressful. If you live in or around Colorado Springs they might even need some help around the farm soon. Lots of horses to care for ... and chores :)
If anyone wants to add anything just PM me. I felt compelled to do this because I admire the Barrett’s so very much!! Please help if you can - it all adds up!
This fundraiser will be linked directly to Carrie’s bank account.
Thank you!
