Carrie & Billy get necessities this week

Update from Carrie Hicks 2/8/24

“We continue to be amazed at the outpouring of thoughts, prayers and donations. Thank you does not seem like enough to say. It has not set in that this fire has happened and that our car that was damaged in the fire has been totaled as well. Our son, Daniel is stable in the hospital. Our 3 dogs are being cared for in three different places and are slowly adjusting. Billy and I are feeling very blessed. We are hopeful that we will find a 2-3 bedroom furnished rental soon….”

Hi, I am Lauren Gleaton and Carrie & Billy work for my company, Gleaton’s. They’ve worked for us over 5 years in the estate sale business. We are a close company, celebrating highs and lows together. My husband and I rushed to Carrie & Billy’s home the moment we found out it was on fire. They were an hour away on a job site so there was nothing they could do to stop the fire. Luckily, their son and three dogs were able to escape. The home was absolutely amazing. So much love and many memories were captured there. The wrap around front porch was the site for showers and parties from the original owners, Mr. and Mrs. Self. The Self’s built and milled the adorning front porch with their children. Carrie is an incredible decorator and has an eye for design. She creates the most beautiful vignettes for both our company and Treasures Old and New Antique Store in Newnan. In their home, she placed irreplaceable antiques and heirloom pieces with pride throughout to teach her grandchildren the way it once was. Billy made the yard a huge play area for the grandkids. So much thought, time, resources went into their loving home.

Currently Carrie and Billy are in the process of working with their doctors to obtain their prescriptions (Billy is a multiple time cancer survivor), having keys remade for vehicles, purchasing basic clothes for the next week, dog food, bowls for the dogs to drink out of, literally everything- phone chargers, snacks
