Hello!
These 5 enthusiastic runners are participating in the The Great Scottish Run 2025, taking place on Sunday 5th October in Glasgow. We are running either the 10km or half-marathon to raise money for The Carrick Code initiative.
The Carrick Code is a whole-school, positive behaviour initiative that was introduced within Carrick Academy from August 2022.
The Carrick Code is a concise and consistent behavioural policy which pupils, parents/guardians and school staff understand and work together on.
It was designed to clearly outline five expectations for both pupils and teaching staff within the school environment; allowing all young people to take responsibility for their own learning and strive towards achieving their full potential.
Lastly, the Carrick Code was established to allow all young people, from S1-S6, who had met these expectations to be formally recognised through the rewards events.
A key principle of The Carrick Code was to ensure that these reward events would be free to enable equity for all eligible pupils to participate.
All donations will help Carrick Academy continue to fund free rewards events for our pupils, such as trips to the cinema, laser quest, ten pin bowling, discos, inflatables days and more, and help cover the cost of transport to and from these rewards trips!
