Celebrating the life of Michele Tucker

Donation protected
On Saturday, September 17, 2022, my sister Michele Tucker left this world in search for a place where she could be with the love of her life, Sean Dougherty. This fundraiser is to help cremate her and celebrate her life in the best way we can. Michele died at just 41 years old, a few weeks shy of her 42nd birthday.

For many of you, this is the second GoFundMe you’ve seen this week. Michele’s love Sean passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on September 10, 2022, one week before her passing at 37 years old. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to access those funds as Michele was the beneficiary. We will either redirect those donations toward her celebration of life or refund them as soon as possible. This process is lengthy and may take some time. Thank you to all of you who have already generously given to support us during this time.

A community of wonderful people came together this past week to celebrate Sean’s life and grieve with Michele and his family. The outpouring of support was immeasurable. Michele and Sean left one hell of a mark on so many people throughout their short lives.

Michele, known by many as Ma, Vanilla Tokyo, Galactic Garbage, Big Hand, sister sister, daughter, niece, friend, stellar coworker, and confidant, was the most powerful force of personality that her loved ones had the pleasure of knowing.

There was no one like her. No one even came close. Every friend of hers I’ve met told me (many times) how much of an impact she had on them. Several of them told me that she had saved their lives, or pulled them up out of the darkest of times, so that they could enjoy the beautiful sparks of life again.

To many, she was the beautiful sparks of life. She had jokes. So many jokes. She lit up a room, and I guess that’s why she had to go (ba dum tss). She was an artist in everything she did. The art she made on canvas was beautiful. Her writing was quick and witty and on par with someone who should be published. And really, you all should read her old X-Files fan fiction from when she was younger… I have to dig that up somewhere. She was a musician and so uniquely talented. I always thought she could have been a stand-up comedian, but really, she was so good at everything she attempted.

Michele was kind. She put everyone else before herself, to a fault. She was a lover first and foremost, and she cared so much for animals and her cats in particular. She was generous. She was a social justice warrior in the best possible way. She always wanted to learn and be better for the people she loved, for her community, and even for the people she knew she would never get to meet.

There’s so much more to say, and there will be time for that. We are waiting to plan a ceremony for Michele and I will keep everyone up to date on a final plan. Feel free to email me if you have any questions or want to connect.

In the meantime, we would love to hear any stories or memories about Michele that you have. We’d like to compile all of them for her celebration of life. You can share stories by leaving a comment here or by emailing me through GoFundMe. Please share any photos or videos as well by uploading them here or by emailing me.

Thank you all for loving her endlessly as I did. We will get through this together <3
