Our plan focuses on a critical environmental challenge: reducing carp biomass in our waterways. Carp are an invasive species that disrupt ecosystems and threaten native fish populations. Our goal is to significantly reduce carp biomass and transform it into fertilizer, providing this resource at low or no cost to farmers.
Carp are a pervasive problem, decimating local ecosystems and causing economic and environmental damage. The proposed release of the carp herpes virus as a control measure poses further risks to biodiversity.
This situation demands sustainable and effective solutions.
Our Solution
We aim to collaborate with state fisheries to systematically remove carp from waterways. By converting carp biomass into fertilizer, we can support sustainable agriculture while alleviating the carp burden on our ecosystems.
Our approach involves:
Mass Carp Removal: Leveraging my experience as a commercial fisherman, We have successfully removed over 100,000 live carp for NSW DPI Fisheries in a mere five-day period in 2023. We have removed over 7 tonnes of carp in mere three-day period for personal bait use and have the capacity to remove over 50 tonnes of fish weekly, our operation is both scalable and effective.
Fertilizer Production: The carp biomass will be processed into nutrient-rich fertilizer. By providing it at a low cost or free to farmers, we aim to enhance soil health and support sustainable farming practices.
Ecosystem Restoration: Partnering with state fisheries, we plan to introduce native fish stocks into the waterways from which we remove carp. This will help restore balance to aquatic ecosystems and support biodiversity.
Call to Action
To achieve our vision, we seek donations and support from individuals, organizations, and government bodies. Your contribution will play a vital role in protecting our ecosystems, promoting sustainable agriculture, and ensuring the health of our waterways for future generations.
This initiative is not just about removing an invasive species; it is about healing our environment and fostering a sustainable future. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on our ecosystems, agriculture, and communities. Join us in this critical effort to reduce carp biomass and transform it into a resource for growth and renewal.
