There are people that live their lives selfishly. Day after day making descisions to benefit solely themselves. But the woman I am going to tell you about has devoted her life to every loved member of her family. 61 years of giving. 61 years of loving. 61 years of being a devoted christian. Everyday was spent giving, loving, and worshipping. She has suffered for years and all the while stayed true to her character. While being stabbed for the hundreth time to get an IV she makes sure that the surveyers around her are ok. She watches dotingly on her great grandchildren as they giggle and scream around the hospital room. This is the woman we all look up to for her strength. This is the woman who deserves so much more than she has.
Her health issues began with several heart attacks caused by clogged arteries. Her first open heart surgery happened in 2009 which resolved the clogged arteries however caused a paralyzed diaghpram. Her paralyzed diaghpram has caused years of pneumonia that have damaged her lungs so severely that she now is fully reliant on a trach and ventilator to breath efficiently. Her kidneys have now began to fail, as well as liver and heart. After 8 months of being hospitalized she has decided to deny dialysis and come home to spend her remaining days with her family surrounding her.
Carolyn DeVries, is a mother of four children, Becky Ramos, Rob Nash, Daniel DeVries and Zane DeVries, grandmother to 8 grandchildren, and great grandmother to four great grandchildren. While devoting her life to her children, Carolyn never accumulated much wealth. Vast health problems prevented life insurance from being a realistic option.
The family is asking for any donations to help with funeral expenses and lovingly welcomes any words of encouragement to pass on to our beloved Carolyn as doctors are giving her a few short days left before joining her mother and father in heaven.
