She was recently diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma Cancer. She has many months of treatment ahead of her with chemotherapy here and a bone marrow transplant at the Mayo Clinic. The cancer has attacked her T5 vertebrae in her back; making it very difficult for her to walk and that might need surgery in the future too. She is upbeat and will come out of this OK, though it will be a long haul. Any financial support you can give her is greatly appreciated! She does have health insurance; It is just the unknown of co-pays, out of network expenses, trips to the Doctor, The Mayo Clinic and how long she is unable to work. Thank you very much for your support of my dear friend Carolyn...Joel Hentges
Update 8/31/19 - Carolyn is doing remarkably well and is in good spirits. She has completed 4 months of chemotherapy and is more mobile now but still has the neck and back brace on for 1 or 2 more months. She just got back from 4 days of tests at the Mayo Clinic. She is scheduled to start the bone marrow transplant there on 9/26/19 and will be down there 5 to 6 weeks. We are having a benefit party for her to offset some of those costs on Saturday 9/14/19 from 12 to 5 at Grumpy's at 4113 Main Street, St Bonifacius Stop by and say hello we truly appreciate your support - Joel Hentges
