Hey family and friends. Not many know, but my mom, Carol, was diagnosed with mitral valve regurgitation. This is a condition that occurs when the mitral valve in the heart doesn't close properly, allowing blood to flow backward into the heart and not properly through her body and if not treated properly it can lead to heart failure.
Now, due to this diagnosis, she will need to undergo heart surgery on March 21st to repair and still could possibly need replaced followed by a 4–5-day hospital stay with the 1st day being in the ICU. Obviously with this comes unexpected financial hardship on her and my dad. She is looking at up to $10,000 out of pocket, and that's not including all the testing she has to undergo and has already been through. My dad was set to retire here in May, and now due to this financial hardship they are facing, he will be pushing his retirement back to the end of the year while working 6 days a week at the age of 65, almost 66. Please note, this fundraiser is NOT to help my dad retire in any way; it's to help relieve some of the financial burden they will have on my mom's testing and surgery.
If any of you know my mom, you know she's a dedicated mom and grandma (Yaya) to Landen, whom she loves more than anything, and we just want her to be healthy enough again to keep up with his rambunctious energy as well as healthy enough for any more future grandkids.
We are reaching out to ask for your support through this GoFundMe to help cover the costs of medical bills or necessary treatments. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in helping my mom through this challenging time. Please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser. Thank you for your love and support.
