My name is Caroline, and I have always dreamed of working with animals. This year, I was selected as one of only 12 students to participate in a unique study abroad program in Costa Rica, focused on sea turtle conservation and wildlife rehabilitation. This is my first time traveling outside the country, and it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn directly from experts at the Latin American Sea Turtle Association (LAST) on the Osa Peninsula.

During this program, I’ll be combining classroom learning with hands-on work, helping with sea turtle research, rehabilitation, and community engagement. Every day will involve physical activity, from working on boats and kayaks to hiking in tropical mountains. I’ll also have the chance to explore local culture and natural wonders, deepening my understanding of conservation challenges and solutions.

The funds I raise will help cover essential costs like airfare, housing, meals, local transportation, and mandatory activities. This experience will give me the skills and knowledge I need to pursue a career in wildlife rehabilitation after graduation. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and for any support you can give to help me make a difference for sea turtles and wildlife.
