Hey friends! If you are familiar with Caroline’s story, then you know what a hard time she's been having with the traumatic injury to her leg and the long journey to recovery that lies ahead. In November, 2024 Caroline suffered an open fracture which led to emergency surgery. The hardware has been unable to stay in her leg due to serious infection, and there have been multiple stints of hospital stays, numerous surgeries and ongoing bacterial infections. She has been on some heavy duty IV antibiotics for the last six months which, unfortunately, are no longer going to be covered by their insurance. Couple this news with her feeding peg tube that is also an out of pocket cost each month, and the financial impact is significant on this family.
