Last month, our family received life-changing news: my sister Caroline was diagnosed with cancer in her pancreas called neuroendocrine carcinoma. Unlike typical pancreatic cancer, this form is more treatable. Still, it is aggressive, and the tumor can’t be removed safely due to its location around a major vein. Beginning September 15, Caroline will start an intensive treatment plan, including chemotherapy, to face this disease head-on.
Caroline is the type of person who never asks for help. She’s private, strong and always puts others before herself. But as the cancer has brought more pain into her daily life and the uncertainty of this journey looms ahead, she has allowed herself to accept the support of her community — not so much for her own comfort, but to help keep life as steady and normal as possible for her two beautiful children, Chloe and Cayden.
If you know Caroline, you know that she lights up every room she enters, caring deeply for her family, friends, employees, community and most of all, her kids. And even through facing challenges of her own in recent years, Caroline has never stopped showing up for others — and now it’s time for her crew to show up for her.
That’s why we are creating Caroline’s Crew — a circle of friends, family and community standing beside her with courage, care and prayer.
Many have asked how they can help. Because this journey is just beginning, we are starting with one simple collection of funds that will go directly toward:
- Out-of-pocket medical expenses
- House cleaning and yard services
- Grocery delivery and meal support
- Everyday care and support for her and her children
Every donation — big or small — will make a difference and remind Caroline she is not on this journey alone. Most importantly, it will give her the gift of focusing on her health and freeing her to pour her strength and energy into recovery and her kids.
