In July, I have the opportunity to student lead a mission trip to the North Cheyenne Indian Reservation in Montana. And a few months later, I will travel with Compassion International to the Dominican Republic to visit Andres—one of our Compassion-sponsored kids!
To do this, I need to raise $3,545.
But, I know the Lord will provide. He already has! I have a great job lined up this summer as a nanny, and I know that everything He plans will happen. But that’s still a big number. And I’m asking if you would please send a gift today to help!
You’ll provide me with leadership training. On the Montana trip, I’m one of the student leaders responsible for all the planning and decisions. The best lessons are learned by doing--and your gift makes that possible.
You’ll grow my relationship with Christ. On both trips, I know my heart will be broken, stretched, and shaped to be more like Jesus’. Your giving will make a permanent impact on my own faith journey.
Would you please donate today?
Thank you!

July 15-28 | Ashland, Montana | Cost: $750.00 | Deadline: May 31, 2018
Back in January, my youth pastor nominated me to serve as the student leader for this year’s mission trip. I spent a weekend in Chicago with LeaderTreks learning how to lead my peers. It’s a big responsibility for me, because the student leaders plan every aspect of the trip, and we are responsible for all of our decisions and choices.
Ashland is a “Census Designated Place,” and it is not even a real town. There are many broken families and foster homes, so our team will reach out to these kids and show them a greater hope in Jesus. They are the ripple effect to making Ashland and the reservation a place filled with hope. The unemployment rate is 78% and those who do work commute up to three hours away.
We’re partnering with Shawn McAlpine, a man who devoted his life to the people of Ashland. He preaches at the local church, Hillside Alliance, and his ministry is completely based off volunteer work. To support his family, he works in the school cafeteria. We will work with him to run a VBS for the kids on the reservation and helping with various work projects that are needed.
October 20-27 | Dominican Republic | Cost $2,795 | Deadline: July 5, 2018
My dad works at Compassion, and this year he will visit the Dominican Republic to meet Andres, one of our four sponsored children. This is his five-year employment anniversary trip, and he gets to bring one other person. And he picked Tobin instead of me! But, if I am able to raise my own support, I can go on the trip as well.
My family has worked with children in poverty since before I could remember. Both my parents have traveled the world to help children, and they’ve instilled a deep longing for me to do the same. On this trip, we will visit many Compassion churches and children—providing hope, fun, laughter and friendship. And, this is a trip where I can use my Spanish language skills too! While I won’t be a student leader, I will have the opportunity to allow God to continue shaping my own heart. It’s an exciting opportunity for sure. And one that I am working very hard to earn money for because it’s pretty expensive.
Other Details
Please pray for both of these trips. I want God to continue to use me and shape me as a leader and the person He wants me to be.
I am raising $3,595 to cover the entire cost of both trips including transportation, lodging, food, and all supplies. Any gift you can give would be amazing. $25, $50 or even $100 would be such a great blessing.
