Caroline Grace's Heart of Gold Transplant Journey

You wouldn't know it by her smile but our Sweet Caroline is undergoing the most challenging part of her life, both physically and emotionally, as she waits for her miracle. The miracle of a new heart. We her family are asking for your support in helping Caroline and her "better half" Quinton in easing the financial burden of their heavy load. Our goal is to raise $80,000 to go toward the costs of Caroline's medical care, along and the cost of living, in that Caroline has been unable to work since December 2022. Quinton has been amazing and stood by her side with both emotional and financial support but the financial load is just too heavy for just one person to bear. Caroline is receiving Short Term Disability Income through her employer thankfully, but it only replaces a very small fraction of her regular income. It is just not enough!

Caroline's heart journey began in 2022 when she heard from her doctor words which are crushing for anyone to bear, especially a bright eyed 27 year old girl. The words were "Congestive Heart Failure". Caroline stayed tough though with this diagnosis, being the strong willed and positive spirited girl that she is. Only two months later however that strength would be further tested when told by her doctor this time that she needed to be prepared for being listed on the heart transplant list. In other words, be prepared for waiting for your miracle. Caroline stayed strong and hopeful in a brighter tomorrow and then just one month later a "set-back" as she suffered a life threatening Pulmonary Embolism. Caroline views this is just a set-back, with her "glass half full" outlook on life in that she survived what could have been fatal and she has been advised that she can expect to be back on the transplant list within 6 weeks! Go Caroline! That's our girl!

Anyone who has ever had the great pleasure of meeting Caroline probably could guess within only minutes of meeting her that her heart that needs replacing is a heart of pure gold! Caroline never meets a stranger, her smile lights up a room and she would do anything for another in need, especially if they have four furry feet! Well, now Caroline needs all of the love that she has put out into the world returned to her, ten fold!
