Caroline Coile clear land after hurricane Idalia.

Hi, this is Robert Mowry with the Suwannee Valley Kennel Club and Central Florida Association of Saluki Hounds. I am trying to help Caroline Coile by collecting funds to be able to clear her property of fallen trees and limbs after hurricane Idalia. At this time there is no power, no water and her dogs are in the house with only a small yard to potty due to the dangers of all the fallen trees and downed fences. There is no access to the property via vehicle. as there are trees in front of the gate.

On August 30th hurricane Idalia struck a direct hit on Live Oak, Florida. The hurricane spawned many tornadoes and one or more hit the neighborhood and property of Caroline Coile. While many households suffered a loss of one or two trees, Caroline’s property was utterly devastated. With hundreds of trees, torn up by the roots, snapped in half, or wrung apart. There are so many trees down. It is impossible to count them as they are tangled in each other, and in many cases you cannot even walk close to anything. Much of the fencing was destroyed, both to the puppy yards and the house yard. Caroline has has spent several thousand dollars so far trying to patch the fences but the trees that are still lying on them make that impossible, the fact that she has no help, and the dogs continue to escape. At this point, she is confining a litter of puppies plus adults ranging up to 16 years of age without power, fencing, or water. The first estimate to cut and pile the major trees in large burn piles within the yard was between 40 and $50,000. Caroline estimates that if she writes 400 articles she can pay for that. She is continuing to look for more affordable options.

I will be dispersing funds to the crews clearing the debris and the people repairing/replacing the fences. Anything that you can donate to help, would be greatly appreciated.

Funds will start being dispersed this week with the majority going to the tree removal team.
