As the devastation from Hurricane Helene continues to grow, we are working swiftly to support our housekeeping employees at Carolina Properties. Many have inquired about ways to help, and so we’ve created this page to give you a local donation option that will positively impact the people who have helped to make your vacation to Lake Lure or Chimney Rock enjoyable.

Carolina Properties is a local, family owned business that was started in 1999 by Valerie Wrobel, located in Lake Lure, NC.

Carolina Properties is proud to offer earned Paid Time Off (PTO) to our team. However, most team members utilized their PTO over the first 6 days following the damage. Despite this, the need for support remains high as many of our employees are facing significant trials. Team members are currently on day six of no power, no water and traveling 40 miles a day to find a bag of ice, working from their cars to keep phones charged, and waiting hours in line for gas before then being turned away, in short, countless lives have been turned upside down.

Our team members at Carolina Properties take care of 70 area homes, ensuring that thousands of people have a spectacular vacation each year. Their dedication to providing exceptional service is what makes our vacations memorable.

Our goal is to help our housekeepers in every way we can. These funds will be used to pay employees while the properties are unable to operate and also to provide aid for their personal needs.
