Carolina & Baby Abraham: A journey of hope

Donation protected

Hello, my name is Juliana, Carolina's sister. Currently living in Ohio, miles away from where my sister is facing her biggest challenge yet, I find myself feeling the distance more acutely than ever. Despite the physical separation, I've been a part of this journey, witnessing Carolina transform into a mother under the most demanding circumstances. Her strength and resilience, blooming amidst the trials of premiehood, have been nothing short of awe-inspiring.

From afar, I've seen Carolina embrace motherhood with a courage that has touched many hearts, including mine. Her dedication to baby Abraham, during these arduous months in the NICU has been a true labor of love. It's my deepest wish to alleviate the financial pressures she faces, allowing her to fully enjoy and cherish every precious moment with Abraham at home, when the time comes.

Though I can't be there in person, this campaign is my way of being there for her in spirit and action, ensuring she has the support she needs during this critical time.

Our Brave Little Warrior and His Incredible Mom

On October 2nd, our world was turned upside down. My sister, Carolina, fondly known as "Carito," a dedicated 6th-grade teacher with Broward City Schools, faced an unexpected and frightening challenge. Due to a condition called Cervical Insufficiency, she went into severe preterm labor, leading to the birth of our little fighter, Abraham, born at just 23 weeks gestation. It was a critical time, filled with uncertainty and hope.

Facing Challenges with Courage and Love

Carito's maternity leave was cut short due to her unforeseen early delivery. Just two weeks after giving birth, she returned to work, saving her leave for when Abraham could finally come home. For 11 weeks, our tiny warrior has been fighting in the NICU, showing us all what true strength looks like. His progress has been remarkable, and we are eagerly anticipating his homecoming.

The Struggle of a Premie Mom

As the primary breadwinner of the family, Carito faces immense challenges. The joy of preparing for a new baby was overshadowed by the immediate need for medical attention and care. Insurance costs are soaring, and the upcoming unpaid maternity leave adds to the financial strain. Our days are a cycle of teaching, hospital visits, and little rest.

A Call for Community Support

Carito's mental and emotional well-being has been deeply affected. The financial burden of caring for a preemie at home is daunting. We are reaching out to our community, near and far, to help ease this burden. The funds raised will support Carito during her 12-week unpaid maternity leave and assist with the extensive expenses of caring for a preemie.

Our Goal and Gratitude

We aim to raise $12,000 by January 31, 2023, when we hope to welcome baby Abraham home. This support means more than just financial aid; it's a gesture of love, solidarity, and community spirit. Every contribution, no matter how small, will bring us closer to ensuring that Carito and Abraham have the support they need during this critical time.

Please join us in this act of kindness and share our story. Let's come together for Carito and Abraham, showing them the power of a community united by hope and love.
