As some of you may already know on the Friday 29th September 2023 our lovely Carole (Charles) was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.
She had spent months with pains in the abdomen and after many doctors visits she was given a CT Scan which revealed that she sadly has Pancreatic Cancer.
Pancreatic Cancer is known as a silent killer with one of the worst survival rates and the best hope of survival is surgery to remove the tumor. After further MRI scans it has shown the worst outcome at present, her tumor is far too close to a major artery to qualify for this life saving surgery. We are hoping that with intense Chemotherapy, the tumor will shrink enough that it moves away from the artery, resulting in her qualifying for the surgery at a later date.
Carole ironical a few years back donated to a friend of a friends Go Fund Me page, remembering the lady had the same condition. She contacted her and was amazed at how well she had done. Their situation was very similar and the very treatments Carole had then helped donate too are exactly what we want for Carole now. The lady said she believes she wouldn’t be here without having the further treatment with helped her tolerate the intense Chemo which she may well have had to stop due to the side effects. After just 3 months of intense Chemo and the additional treatments the tumor had shrunk enough for the surgery, which was successful.
The complementary treatments consist of initially a 6 week course of extremely High IVs including Vitamin C which help attack the cancer along with strengthening her body to help deal with the Chemo toxins. A high-dose IVC is as powerful as an adjuvant treatment for cancer, acting synergistically with many standard (chemo) therapies, as well as a method for mitigating the toxic side-effects of chemotherapy. Along with those treatments is the Mistletoe treatment and up until a few years ago this treatment was offered as a complementary treatment on the NHS for Pancreatic Cancer. It has high success rate bur sadly due to funding this is no longer offered unless you live in Scotland.
Mistletoe Therapy also helps increase the bodies natural immune system and, in some cases, has even helped to shrink the tumor. Previous research has also shown that Mistletoe treatment can improve the quality of life in terms of with cancer fatigue and diminish the side effects of chemotherapy.
With these therapies now only being available through private clinics the cost easily goes into tens thousands of pounds. The initial course of 6 weeks is £11,000 alone. The treatment would be ongoing with the cost lessening along the way but in order to provide the best hope and chance of survival it would need to continue for the duration of her Chemo and probably beyond.
I think we can all agree Carole would be the first person to offer help and the last to ask for it, so as she is my oldest and closest friend I am asking for her. She has the biggest heart and loves her family and friends so much I pray we can give her a fighting chance.
We are realistic and know these are trying times financially for everyone, but I am asking if you can help contribute anything at all myself, Alice, Dottie, Nellie, Ron & anyone who loves her would be beyond eternally grateful.
Also please please share,
Thank you, Debbie X
