Hi, my name is Claire and on Monday 24th November I lost my beautiful mum unexpectedly. I still can’t believe I’m writing these words. She was my safe place, my biggest supporter, and the gentlest soul I’ve ever known. Life feels upside down without her, and I’m trying my best to stay strong for my children while coping with the shock and heartbreak of losing her.

My mum didn’t have any savings but she did have a funeral plan in place however I think she was unaware of the cost as she doesn’t have enough to cover, and as her next of kin, it’s fallen to me to arrange everything. I want to give her a peaceful, dignified farewell, something that reflects the love, warmth, and kindness she gave to everyone who knew her.

Right now, the funeral costs are more than I can manage on my own. I work hard and provide for my family, but this happened so suddenly, and I simply wasn’t prepared for the financial burden that comes with losing someone unexpectedly.
