My husband Jeff McCann  and I were bumping along with life just like the rest of the world. We were busy with our kids,a new business,and began a new world of Grandparenting. Life couldn't have been more normal. Little did we know that  in just a few short minutes everything would change.
On January 15 2016 I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Cansinoma , an invasive Breast Cancer. To'say we were shocked wouldn't even come close.
One minute I was talking about brewing coffee,and coffee in general with the Radiogist doing my Biopsy,in the next moment.....Cancer!
Once he completed his work,I knew he had already read the Mamogram report,and read the Ultra Sound. He confirmed our worst nightmare. I have Cancer. The Radiologist went on to explain that there Lymph Nodes effected as well,and that we would not know the Stage or the significance until the Surgery was done. A Sentinal Node Biopsy would be conducted along with the surgery to remove the cancer in the breast.

In the hours that followed everything was a blur for me. So many questions we had. First and foremost....our children. Our kids at home range in age from 13,12,9 & 9 years old.How were we going to tell our kids? How would we juggle a busy house of 4 kids along with a home based business and now Cancer? 

We shared wth our family that evening. We were thankful everyone was home to sit around our table and hear the news together. In the days that followed we shared with a small circle of friends,who immediately began to pray. In the past two weeks I have been through many,many tests,a bone scan,X-rays,blood tests and more ultra sounds.
We have a fantastic group of family,friends & a church who love us dearly, you all  have kept up the prayer of healing and peace. When we look at what is ahead of us it seems too much for one family. We have given great thought and prayer to reaching out to you this way. In the months ahead we have the reality of extended trips to Toronto as well as Kingston. Our expenses will grow quickly. Things like parking,over night stays, food and the like will need a fund to draw on. We will have some benefits to tap into,however there are things that everyday life still needs to maintain  our sanity and wellbeing .Also,to maintain the kids daily routines with their school and other commitments they will be between home and Jessica's house. Simple things that we may not think of will arise,and without any kind of added income,things will be stressful.
We as a family are overwhelmed by the outpouring of care and concern. My surgery will be on Feb 18,2016 in Belleville.
Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers. We know we have an amazing God who has everything in His control.
