AFTER CAROL A. MATTHEWS SURVIVED BREAST CANCER
Thank you for visiting the page of my selfless, generous mother.
My name is Sean Matthews. I'm the man running my Mother's GoFundMe campaign. The paragraphs following this one are the original story describing the causes for her campaign that I composed 2 1/2 years ago, after she started recovering from the chemotherapy. Over the last couple years, she has filed motion after motion in court to save her house from foreclosure. She has filed for bankruptcy and the bank has given her the modification on her mortgage a couple times. She couldn't satisfy the terms of the modification. She has exhausted all options but one, coming up with enough money to pay the amount she's behind on the mortgage. Then she can just simply go back to making the same mortgage payments she was making before. I know that together we can succeed in saving her house from foreclosure. It's simply a matter of getting this message out, and getting it across to people. Post it to your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. If everyone seeing this would donate $10-$15 this tragedy will be avoided. Just think of it, one donation out of your whole life will prevent her from loosing everything she has worked for her whole life. She was self sustaining and self reliant before her breast cancer. She can be self reliant again after she pays the amount she's behind. She has been cancer free for a couple years and is looking forward to being able to say out loud "Five years cancer free!". If you have concerns about the legitimacy of this fund raiser, I can give you the case# upon request and you can call the courthouse to check it. She has always taught me to do good, pitch in with others, be helpful and cooperate with others, and great things can be accomplished. Now it's her turn. Let us all join together and pitch in. Let us all cooperate and this problem will be solved. She's a member of your community. She's your neighbor. When we talk about finding the cure for cancer we use the term "Magic Bullet". Your donation is the "Magic Bullet" to eradicate this hopeless situation. Carol Matthews is in the eleventh hour, in urgent need of your help. The foreclosure auction date is Oct. 22, 2019. With your contribution the foreclosure auction will be stopped. Thank you so much for your consideration. I'll be out there in the community at large with the pink shirt, pink tie, HUGE pink sign, and the pink donation bucket hanging from my arm. I'll be announcing different place I'll be fund raising in the area on my Twitter @Sean_Matthewsfl .
The following paragraphs are what I wrote to tell the story of her need for the fund raiser 2 1/2 years ago.
After going through chemotherapy Carol Matthews fell behind 3 months in her mortgage, water and electric bills. The mortgage company has sent it to the foreclosure dept. and her water will be shut off soon. Her falling so far behind has compounded everything else. Carol Matthews was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer July 2015 and started chemo in Oct. 2015. When she first started chemo she got so sick that she couldn't eat for days and I had to take her to the emergency room and she stayed in the hospital for 3 days. It took 18 bags of iv fluid to bring her back. She had nearly died. The picture of her for this fund raiser is the picture I took after she almost died. I was afraid it would be the last picture I would ever take of her. But she has survived. She's gone through all the chemo she needs, but she'll never recover from the financial blow without your help.
My mother, Carol Matthews, has lived in the Ft. Lauderdale FL area since 1967 when she left my abusive father in the Philadelphia area when I was 1 year old and took my sister and I. She worked as a professional waitress since I was 1 year old, raising 2 children as a single parent. She bought a house and always worked to pay the bills and make the mortgage payments ever since. When my grandmother's dementia was at its worst 15 years ago, my mother took her into her house and took care of her while she was in a vegetative state. Carol Matthews has always put other people before herself. We can save her house from foreclosure by selflessly joining together to help a woman who's been serving people her whole life.
Carol Mathews owes more than $280,000 on her house. She has worked so hard for so long that her knees, back and shoulders are so degraded and made worse by osteoporosis that she'll never be able to work again. She's taking Tamoxifen and it makes her joints hurt even worse. Anastrozole has less side effects and her joints will hurt less but she can't afford it yet. My Mother has always been a lady, of selflessness, generosity, decentcy, and good taste. Her income is now only $490.00/ month social security because they only took contributions from her waitress's minimum wage, not her tips. Waitress's minimum wage is much less than the national minimum wage, $1-$1.50/hour. At some places they told her she had to work for tips only. If she loses her house, she will lose everything she's worked for since 1967 and she will end up homeless for the rest of her life! I know that there are other people out there like us that would help someone like her in the position she's in.
Please help Carol Matthews,$10 $20, no amount is too small or too much. And if you're a believer, please pray for her.
