Noelia and I have had the pleasure of calling Carol our best friend for over 20 years. It was carol’s mom who took me to Six Flags for the first time ever in middle school. Carmen squeezed me in their car and gave me memories I will never forget. It was Carol who always selflessly defended me when my mouth got me in trouble with bullies It was carol who protected noelia and I, always. It’s carol who looks out for us now and spends so much of her time sharing parenting advice with Noelia and I since carol was a pro by the time we had our first. It’s Carol who isn’t afraid to show up in court and defend us, even when we have our own attorneys. It’s Carol who tells it like it is and isn’t afraid to be herself no matter what crowd she’s in.

For those of you who know Carol, you know that she is a servant and will give whatever she has to help make someone else’s life easier. She serves her family, friends and community like no one else I know.

Carol and Noelia have had many adventures from trying to get out of school for a fresh made meal during lunch to figuring out life at St. Mary’s together. Noelia talks about how she’ll never forget the summer before 8th grade. Noelia received a letter in the mail and the envelope looked like a Lisa Frank binder. Carol had colored it with colored pencils and sent her a letter with a stamp in the mail. It was then that Noelia decided Carol was a special person because she sent her the first hand written letter in the mail. Through breakups, failures, successes, and grief- she has been our protector. She adds value to anyone’s life she is a part of and is the smartest person I know.

Carol is her mom’s pride and joy! Since I’ve known Carmen and carol, she has been the most important thing to her. She has cared for her mother through so many situations and her mom is forever grateful for the woman she has become. Carol is the perfect daughter!

Carol was recently admitted into the hospital and although she is recovering well, bills are bills. Carmen, Noelia and I would like to repay her for all she has done for us. We are hoping she will be up and running in time for Charlee’s first birthday on Sunday Even if we just gather enough to cover food for the week, that’s a win for us.
