Dear Friends,
Our friend and loved one, Carol Hubner, needs our prayers and support. As many of you know, a little over ten weeks ago Carol was diagnosed with breast cancer. On September 19th, Carol had a double mastectomy. She’s healing and regaining her strength and by the grace of God has been spared the need for chemotherapy. I am asking for your continued prayers for Carol and her family and to consider blessing them with a financial gift. As we all know, medical bills can be overwhelming. If you can bless them, it would be a welcome and much needed gift. I pray that we can stand together with Carol and her dear family and fight this battle with them. Thank you for your prayers and support for Carol and the Hubner family!
Here’s a summary in Carol’s words:
Journal entry by Carol Hubner — 10/9/2016
Life turned upside down for us on August 29 when I received the very devastating phone call from my doctor confirming that the mass in my left breast was invasive ducal carcinoma-the words no one ever wants to hear. "Carol I am so sorry but you have breast cancer." I felt fine, how was it possible that cancer had invaded my body. Time stood still and the fear of those words consumed me. We had no idea where to begin.
My doctor warned me that my life was about to change drastically and quickly and that I needed to be surrounded by loved ones who would fight this battle with me. Over the next couple of days, we cried lots and lots of tears and Tony helped me build a team around me that would fight with me and for me. In many ways, that feels like a lifetime ago but it was less than three months ago. We have been surrounded with so much love and support and could not imagine fighting this battle on our own!
