My name is Charlie Barton, and I am one of my mother’s four children.

Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great‑Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend — all of these describe Mum, but none of them come close to capturing how extraordinary she truly was, or how much joy she brought to everyone around her.

Mum loved her family with a fierce and unwavering devotion, especially her husband and her children. She was never a selfish person; she put the needs of others before her own and gave her love and warmth, her support and kindness, her wisdom and guidance, her time and her patience to everyone she met. She even went so far as to give a kidney to help a member of our family — that was the kind of woman she was.

She was the strongest, smartest, most organised and most loving person you could ever hope to meet. Everyone who knew Mum will miss her in ways that words can’t fully express.

Any donation you give will go toward helping with funeral expenses, and anything remaining will be used to create a memorial in her honour.
