Fund a memorial for unsolved teen murder victim
Donation protected
Carol Ann Farino, a 17-year-old high school student, was strangled to death in Maplewood, N.J. more than 55 years ago. Her killer was never found. Her story was recently told in my book, A Long Walk Home (2021 Amarna Books).
Carol was a pretty, popular and kind young woman who helped others and was struck down needlessly and brutally by a murderer who has yet to face justice, and perhaps never will. Her surviving sister, Cynthia, was 11 at the time and is still seeking answers.
To honor Carol and Cynthia, I am raising funds for a memorial park bench to be placed in Maplewood in her name. The township sets the cost at $1,220. We are seeking $1,400 for other elated expenses as well. I am donating the first $100 and ask if you would give what you can so her memory will be forever honored in the township's major park. Even $5 can help. Thanks!
