CARNFORTH RANGERS FC JUNIORS SAMBA GOALS

Donation protected
Hello, and welcome to our Gofundme page. We are trying to raise money on behalf of Carnforth Rangers Football Club to enable us to buy a new set of 2 12 x 6 Samba goals. Also 10% of whatever we raise will go towards our local hospice who have been doing some fantastic work under difficult circumstances since the Covid pandemic began.

Our names are Andy Robinson, manager of the under 15s, under 10s and under 9s Reds, and Dave Procter, the manager of the under 7s Reds. Over the past number of years we have seen our junior section grow massively, and we now have 23 youth teams ranging from the under 5s up to the under 16s, with 19 of those teams playing in the Lancaster and Morecambe Service to Youth League. Next season, it is looking like we will have 10 teams at under 7s to under 10s, who will all be using 12 x 6 goals. We have recently bought 2 new sets of wheeled, roll on goals, along with fencing to store them in and keep them secure. However, with an increased number of teams using them next season, we desperately need to have another set available to enable more young people to play and train. Football is a fantastic sport for young people, helping them learn the importance of working as a team. It also keeps them fit and active.

As you can probably imagine, the goals we need don’t come cheap so Dave and I, along with Daves assistants, David Haughian and Lee Bowen, will be doing a sponsored walk on Easter Weekend. We will be walking all the way from Huddersfield’s John Smiths Stadium on Good Friday (15th) after watching David’s team, Huddersfield Town play Queens Park Rangers. After the game, we will be meeting up with former Huddersfield Town star player Andy Booth, who is now an ambassador at the club. He will be setting us off on our 80 mile journey back to Carnforth, and we will be arriving back on Easter Sunday (hopefully!) where we will meet up with some of our junior players to do the last few miles of the journey with us.

10% of anything we can raise will be donated to St Johns Hospice to help them with the amazing work they do, and the rest will all go towards the new samba goals. We are looking for donations via the gofundme page, along with sponsorship from local businesses to help us try and reach our target and enable us to continue to provide the best possible football experience for our youngest aged footballers.

Many thanks to everyone that has donated so far as we edge closer to our initial target, and a massive thank you to our corporate sponsors, South Lakes Windows Ltd, the Cortus Advisory Group, Eat Indian, Lancaster, JCA Architects and the Walker Conservation Specialists Ltd. Your support is very much appreciated.

Many thanks

Andy, David P, David H and Lee
