Help Eddie’s Funeral Costs

Hello my name is Missy Garza, and I created this Go Fund Me for my friends Eddie and Carmen Cardonita. Eddie has been going through medical problems since 2018. Carmen his wife had been his full-time care taker throughout this time. Beginning in January of 2025, Eddie went

into the hospital because he was having difficulty breathing and was experiencing chest pain. While in the hospital, he has had heart attack ( this is the eighth one that he has suffered ) and three small strokes. Currently, Medicare is unable to continue treatment at the hospital. The recommendation from the doctor is to go into a rehab. However, there is a twenty percent copay that has to be paid upfront. They are unfortunately not in a position to make that kind of payment. Therefore, Carmen has decided to take Eddie home and care for him. For Eddie to be able to go home he needs a hospital bed. This will allow him to get in and out of the bed securely. Also, it will be more comfortable for him.

I ask that you please consider making a donation to help them during this difficult time. Please know that any contribution will be helpful and appreciated. We also kindly ask for your prayers for Eddie's recovery, Carmen endurance and for others who may be experiencing similar situations.

Update: Today after a long battle, Eddie went to his Heavely home. We were hopeful that Eddie would be able to get out of the hospital and go home but God had different plans for him. He is now free from all of his suffering.

I would like to help Carmen with the funeral cost. Therefore, I am switching the fundraiser to help fund his funeral expenses.

Update: 2/5/24

I wanted to express my appreciation and gratitude to all have donated up to this point. Carmen has been working on the funeral arrangements and has received a final monetary amount needed to cover Eddie's funeral expenses. His funeral Mass will be held here in San Antonio, but he will be buried in Abliene, Tx. His parents are buried there and Eddie will be laid to rest along side them.

Your prayers and generosity are appreciated. Please continue to pray for all who struggle with grief.

Update: My apologies for my delayed post. I wanted to let you all know that I have spoken to Carmen and she asked me to share some information.

First, She wanted to express her gratitude for all of those who have donated to help with Eddie's funeral expenses. Carmen ask that God multiplies your blessings. She was able to use the funds to pay for some of the arrangements for Eddie's funeral.

Eddie's funeral will be on February 20, 2024 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Unfortunately, she is still in need of financial assistance for the funeral and burial. So, I please ask that you share the fundraiser link if possible. In the mist of Carmen's grief, she is also looking for a full time job to help pay her living expenses.

Carmen hopes that you find the encouragement and support in understanding their struggles with the medical system and the financial burden it has placed on her and her family. We are all amazed by the generosity of strangers and friends in a difficult time. This has brought light to a situation that can be dark.

Please pray for all those who are in difficult situations. May we all come together in love and hope.
