Hi, my name is Carmenchita.

Im retired; retired early due to illness and have been having more hospitalizations lately. Early retirement only brings me one third of my retirement pension. My disability check goes to house expenses and food. All my money is just enough for my basic needs. I’ve also maxed out my credit cards for other expenses.

My main problem is having no shower in my townhouse downstairs . Currently, I’m using a tent in my patio to get by. My husband brings 5 gallons of hot water when I shower, or if I get help from an agency.

I cannot access my second floor due to my knee problems and I fatigue easily given I have low ejection fraction, less 20 and my CHF is recurring. When I feel cold, it’s difficult to breathe…so showering outside is difficult. I have no scooter to use to go to the clubhouse but I will need consistent companion in the clubhouse due to consistent shortness of breath. Stair lifts are expensive so I need funding. I also prefer to have a sleeping area downstairs as it is the only area with TV and easy access to kitchen. I can also use scooter for shopping, but it’s better if lightweight as my husband also has cancer and shoulder problems.

For the funding, I wish to have the following:

1) ultralight scooter -dashmoto which is about 4200 , extra battery 800 dollars

2) simple partition and cabinetry for the dining area as my bedroom downstairs -4000 usd

3)stairlifts-10,000 usd

I have no plans on having a heart transplant due to my complicated medical history so I’m relying on a new drug for my severe CHF.
