We all know that Lincoln Elementary was a big part of Carmen’s life for the 30 years she worked as a teacher. The treasure trove of cherished picture books in her classroom and home filled boxes, and carried treasured memories for Carmen even in her final days.

It seemed fitting to the family that donations be made to purchase picture books for the Lincoln library to remind those of us that were lucky enough to know Carmen that her legacy lives on, and for future generations of Lincoln students to spark a love for reading through the pages of some of Carmen’s favorite books.
