Carmen Needs You
Feline diabetes. Hospital stay, plus fluids, plus insulin, plus painkillers, plus ultrasound, plus blood and urinalysis, and other treatments to combat high glucose blood content. Rushing her into the ER was 4 grand on the spot. Subsequent costs will be added as the week progresses.
I've been told that keeping her in hospital was essential, as this allows the vet techs to keep an eye on her levels. She may have to stay for 14 days, potentially. That'll rack up the costs from 4 grand to 6-8 thousand dollars.
I've already paid the first 4 grand, so the additional 6 on top of that is what she needs. I will go into debt so that this tiny cat may live. I can't let her die on my watch. I won't.
It just developed so fast, like... in a week? She went from healthy and active to listless and exhausted, her body curled up tight in abdominal pain in bed, where she hadn't moved for an entire day. She was puking dry heaves and bile, and when she stopped eating or drinking, I had to bring her in.
This cat is the nicest, sweetest thing I've ever had the honour of handling. She cuddles, she's quiet, doesn't scratch, never bites. She has this tiny, hoarse little voice, the tiniest mew. And she's just so small. This small ball of fur means everything to me. Ugh, I can't even type this without tearing up. My eyes are sore from all the tears.
About myself: I work as a designer in the animation industry. I'm not earning minimum wage, but let's just say that a mortgage will never be on the plate. Living in Vancouver is expensive, but I gotta work here. So.
Anyway, if you can help with Carmen's costs, to save her tiny life, please donate. I don't know what I can offer besides art commissions, long-distance services (academic writing, cold calls, online research, cover letters, art tutorials, misc?), and I'd say nudes but Gofundme frowns on that, so whatever.
If you think you'd like to chip in by buying an art commission, have a gander at my portfolio website at http://qlippoth.net , or my sketchdump at http://beta-20.tumblr.com ,
Thank you for your time. I will continue to post progress photos of Carmen as she recovers.
We're all in debt, I know. But if you feel like helping, please. I'm grateful for your consideration.
Cheers,
--Cil.
