Many of you have had the blessing to interact with Carmen as a family member, friend, work colleague, or other ways Carmen has been in our lives. She is an amazing mother, family member and friend. She is an amazing creative architect. She and her family have been very close to many of us. It is with sadness to share that Carmen has recently been diagnosed with advanced stage esophageal cancer, a rare cancer in women. In only a short time since she has been diagnosed (mid October 2021), she has undergone extensive treatment (5 sessions of radiation, 3 sessions of chemotherapy and 2 of immunotherapy so far). She is a hero in fighting this cancer for her family, especially for her amazing six year old daughter, Eva. She and her family have a long road ahead to fight this cancer. The treatment is complex, invasive and extremely expensive. Her family will need support in many forms, from medical bills, life child support, family support, traveling to different care centers, seeking opinion from multiple specialists among others. I hope you will all consider contributing to this fund to help Carmen and her family go thru this hardship!
