Many of us know the saga of the Fabbio family. Carmen, Janet, and their daughters, Brittany and Lexie, have been a part of the Castle Shannon, Keystone Oaks School District, and St. Anne communities for years. Janet Fabbio, a loving wife and mother, was unexpectedly diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer that had metastasized to her liver three years ago. She has battled and fought courageously for three years against this life-changing disease facing numerous ups and downs. Unfortunately, the cancer is just too much for her body to fight and she has been given only a short time to live. Carmen, Brittany, and Lexie are home with Janet spending this precious time together by Janet's side loving and supporting her.
Janet had endured surgeries, radiation and chemo treatments for the last three years. Despite all of that, she continued to work her full-time job for her income and medical insurance until recently. Carmen also faces his own medical struggles, but has continued to work his full-time job at NTB and now at Pep Boys while caring for and supporting his wife, Janet, through this very difficult time. They continued to work to sustain their family and to support their daughters the best they could.
Carmen and Janet are loving and devoted parents, who are determined that their daughters live their lives. As parents, they want their children to be happy, well-adjusted and thriving. The Fabbio family has touched and crossed paths with many of our own families.
Carmen has given so much of his time to the Castle Shannon Youth Association by coaching his daughters and ours in softball for many years. He continued to give of himself even while Janet and their family dealt with Janet's devastating illness. Janet did not let cancer stop her as she would come to the softball games to cheer on her daughter, Lexie, and our daughters.
Now, let us give back to this wonderful, loving family in their time of need. Please help the Fabbio family as they spend time with Janet in her final days. Carmen needs to stay at home with his wife, Janet, to care for her. He needs to be there to support their daughters, Brittany and Lexie, and be their shoulder to cry on now and in the coming weeks. During this heart wrenching time, give this family the opportunity to be together.
The members of the Fabbio family are more than my friends, they are my family. I love them dearly and although I cannot change their fate, I can ask for help for them. Every penny helps.
