Carmen Denson Scholarship Fund

The Carmen Denson Scholarship Fund and Shining Star award is a collaborative effort between professional colleagues, friends and family who want to ensure that individuals that apply have exuded and will continue to exude what Carmen stood for and represented in her career and her home life.

Carmen was a loan officer that was best known for her generosity, zest for life, positivity and infectious personality. She will always be remembered as someone who changed lives through her acts of kindness.

To honor her memory and continue her mission of giving, her family and friends and colleagues created a memorial scholarship fund to help anyone experiencing hardships in their personal lives.

The Shining Star Award is a separate award that will be awarded to a person that shows specific traits that Carmen has been known for, each of the below has been submitted by those that know Carmen:

Selflessness, generosity, acts of kindness, giving, making people feel good just by being there, reassurance, putting others first, inspiration, above and beyond, caring, watching over those she loved and cared for, angel, badass, zest for life, radiant, happy spirit, supportive, outgoing charm, sweetness, bright light, wonderful, positive difference, community, energy, positively infectious personality, changed lives, sense of humor, positive attitude and influence, joy, love, smile, crazy!

A committee of members of each of the groups mentioned above will meet annually to review Scholarship applications and select a Shining Star award winner.
