On Sunday, Carmel Russell, a beautiful mum, wife, nanna and much-loved friend to many passed away. Carmel had been unwell on and off for some time and had been in hospital in the lead-up to Christmas. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by those who loved her. Carmel is finally reunited with her beloved daughter Natalie who we are sure was there to greet her when the time came.

Many of you know how strong she was. Carmel fought long and hard to see justice for her daughter Natalie. She never gave up amid the huge media campaign for justice even as her health declined.

The family would love to give Carmel a fitting send-off, but in these times of economic crisis need your help with funeral costs. If in this busy Christmas time, you could spare a few dollars to contribute to Carmel’s funeral, the family would be eternally grateful.
