Carly’s Story

On April 10, 2023, Carly was taken to the ER with chest pain, shortness of breath and weakness. Her hemoglobin level was 2.9 and she was given a total of 7 pints of blood. It was determined that she had liver cirrhosis and gallstones. Since then she has been hospitalized 2 more times which included removal of the gallbladder with an additional pint of blood. In total, Carly was in the hospital a total of 24 days. Carly is waiting for a consult with a liver transplant facility within her insurance network. At present Carly continues to have edema in her legs which makes walking very painful. She also has fluid in her abdomen and these are issues she will have to deal with for some time. Carly is on multiple medications, and is slowly gaining strength. Carly’s family have been assisting her financially, and to assist them, we are asking for help with bills and medical expenses. This has been a humbling experience and no one ever wants to ask for financial help but under the circumstances any contribution made will be greatly appreciated.
