Carly's Gender Affirming Surgery

Hi there !

My dear friend Carly is finally able to get gender affirming chest reduction surgery January 15 2025. They have been waiting for this surgery for a decade now and finally have been able to set a surgery date. This procedure will be a huge step for Carly towards relieving their gender dysphoria, allowing them to live more comfortably in their body.

Carly is a piercing artist that lives in Brooklyn, piercing is a very physically taxing job that often leads to back pain and with the size of Carly’s chest leads them to wild discomfort. Carly is a loving person who has personally shown up in not only my life other people in the community as well and they are beloved. Carly has suffered a great amount of loss this past year and has been financially recovering since. While they are fortunate enough to have sick pay for some of their recovery, they will not be able to work for half of January while they recover, which is why we are asking for the help of their friends and community. Along with not being able to work they will also have the financial responsibility of paying for the surgery in full after the procedure is done which is $6800 (insurance doesn’t cover costs)

Any contributions to the GoFundMe will go directly towards their rent for the month that they ads recovering, transportation to and from their surgery and post op appointments, groceries, and any medications they may need during recovery.

They will always be there for you, support you, take care of you, give you constructive advice to help you, cry with you, open their home to you, etc. Carly is truly one of the best friends and people one could have in their life. Their loyalty and love is unwavering. This amazing human has dealt with so much tragedy in the past year, losing dear loved ones including their beloved dog, Low. All the while still showing up for their friends during this time. Carly gives and gives, and when it seems like they don’t have anything left to give they still somehow figure out a way to give more.
